Over time I have put together many packages for friends and acquaintances, many of whom could not afford "luxury" items such as blush, hair cream or nail polish. I believe in women looking after themselves, building up their self-esteem and allowing their natural beauty to shine. Lack of knowledge or funds to be able to follow through lead me to the realization that there are a lot of women in this country that want to feel better about themselves, they just need help getting there.
The Makeup Ministry accepts donations of new and lightly used cosmetics, hair and nail products as well as monetary donations to pay for packing and shipping costs. Our recipients are women of all ages and backgrounds from all over the United States.
- Women with long and short-term illnesses that may benefit from corrective makeup or new skincare products due to skin/hormonal changes from medication and treatment.
- Women in previously abusive relationships who need to build up their self-esteem and see that renewed light and sparkle in their eyes.
- Divorced and single moms on tight budgets who find it difficult to "splurge" on beauty items when family needs take precedence.
- Any woman of any age that deserves to take care of herself and simply does not have the means to do so.
Items Needed:
New in package/Unused: Mascara, lipstick, lip gloss, perfume, cosmetic and hair care samples, manicure kits, q-tips and cotton balls/pads.
New or Lightly Used: Eyeliner, lip liner, lipstick, blush, bronzer, eyeshadow singles and palettes, eyebrow shadow/pencils, nail polish, acetone, makeup brushes, exercise dvds, cosmetic/toiletry bags.
*Monetary donations can be made via Paypal. (Check or cash accepted in-person only.)
**All previously-used items will be thoroughly inspected, sanitized and prepared for packages. Any items not meeting our criteria will be discarded upon inspection.
How to Request a Makeup Ministry Package: If you or someone you know would like to receive a package, please submit a request to bpmomathome@yahoo.com and include a brief summary about yourself and your personal style. You can include as much or as little detail as you would like however the more information you include, the better we can select items for you. The goal is to provide you with items you will use on a regular basis that will enhance your overall appearance and make you feel beautiful and comfortable. Attaching a basic photo is optional of course. Acceptance of the request will be at the discretion of The Beauty and Wellness Hotline and also depend on availability of products in our Ministry lot. If for some reason the package request can not be fulfilled, you will be notified via e-mail. ** At present time, our shipping funds are extremely limited therefore, if you (whether you are requesting a package for someone else or for yourself) can cover the cost of shipping up to $5, we will be able to send out your package immediately as opposed to waiting until a later date to receive it.
